Beast of Proportions

The Spring time seems to be the rejuvenation of all things fitness. It is just after New Years when people are making their dedications to their newly acquired winter weight.

Yet why is this pattern so frequent and there is often no consistent ground that has been made? I think that lies in where the motivation is.

Going over the art of persuasion in one of my classes, the idea of physical attractiveness being so ideal and important to the idea of people liking something or being in association with something was huge.

One such thing we discussed was the interesting principle of why people have gym memberships either because they

a) want to find someone there
or
b) people want to look attractive

Though these may be the cases, I feel this doesn't actually suit the need that people have and instead are leaving these people rooted in shallow concepts/desires. This desire to look attractive is a beast that will never be fully satisfied and will leave people always craving those desires.

That is why it's about starting to switch focus not about the weight loss goal or the image it will produce but instead about the idea of living healthy and the benefits that brings to a person.

I believe it brings a new sense of freedom to not be seeking after and feeding an obsession but instead to realize the need of people.

For my own daily life, I know not to be feeding the insecurity, which often leads to taking immediate measures and wanting immediate results, but instead laying foundations for a better lifestyle; Taking my thoughts captive and making sure there is balance with my thought life/physical life.

A New Commitment.

We live in a society in which commitment is seen as a normality amongst people, if someone were to be uncommitted to something they are seen negatively as "inconsistent", "flakey", or other such terms.

In wanting to start up my blog, I want to be committed...

...to being committed to being very inconsistent with the times I post on here. Either not posting for weeks or sometimes posting multiples posts in one day.

One thing I am greatly committed to is to changing the website design from the tacky green color whenever I get the chance to.

Looking forward to a great and erratic blogging.
